Research Summary

Monitoring the abundance and diversity of native bees within Bee Ambassador gardens throughout the city, with sites spanning across an urban gradient. Collected measures of the alpha and beta diversity of native bees will be compared to the local and landscape variables associated with each garden in order to explore the effectiveness of the Bee Ambassador program as it currently exists within Kelowna.
